Architectural products: when light builds shapes and volumes
The architectural project proposed by the Kuadra studio, came to life following the need for an extension to the historic headquarters of the Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Caraglio, until then housed in the ‘Palazzo del Fucile’, an ancient building dating back to the 1700s, and over time the subject of successive extensions between 1800 and 1930. It became the Bank's headquarters after a renovation, and the need for an extension immediately became apparent: hence the project to build an entire new wing, connected to the ‘Palazzo del Fucile’ only through the ground floor, decidedly modern and with squared-off volumes, which integrates unobtrusively with the structure and the harmony of the historicity of the old building.

The project stems from the expansion of the BCC di Caraglio: a new area with square, modern lines, which connects to the old historical building.
The project was supervised by Studio Kuadra, which found in Linea Light Group's products, the right professionalism and technology to support the project, in its various facets: from the search for cutting-edge LED technology, to energy saving, to the remarkable application capabilities, especially with regard to the external scenography that emphasises the architecture and enhances the buildings and the public square in front of the Bank during the night hours. The project also won the 2014 IN/ARCH-ANCE National Architecture Award in the 2014 Young Architects category.
Integrating perfectly into the clean and linear design, Gypsum solutions were chosen, both for the lighting of the lobby and to create lighting effects in the stairwells and landings. Thanks to Gypsum from the Architectural Lighting collection, the lighting is integrated and not only does not disturb the architectural lines, but also emphasises the shapes and volumes of the structure's spaces. For the exterior, items from the Professional LED Lighting collection were chosen: SteelWalk bars, positioned on the ground, illuminate the façade adjacent to the new wing, emphasising the historic architecture of the Rifle Palace, while Insy uplights enhance the maternity of the stone arch in the entrance courtyard. The latter, installed on the ground, were also applied in the access to the new branch, which is reached via a pathway where the lighting effect of the Stick posts guides the visitor's step.
